Who runs this site
This is the personal website of Adam Pritchard. I am the data controller for any personal data handled through it. You can contact me about privacy at adamrprit@proton.me.
The short version
- There are no accounts, forms or newsletters.
- The site sets no cookies and does not use local storage.
- There are no analytics, tracking pixels or adverts.
- The only personal data involved is the technical information any website receives when your browser asks for a page, described below.
Data the hosting provider receives
When you visit, your browser sends a request to the server that hosts the site. Like almost every web host, it may record standard server logs, which usually include your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time. These logs are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems. They are kept for a short time and handled under the host's own privacy policy.
The legal basis for this is legitimate interests: a website cannot be delivered without it.
Fonts
The site uses the Geist and Geist Mono typefaces, loaded from Google Fonts. To send the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google says it does not use this to build profiles or target ads. You can read more in the Google privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Some links take you to other websites, such as LinkedIn and my project sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your data. Digital Ecology, for example, is a separate site with its own privacy notice.
Emailing me
If you email me, I will receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. I use it only to reply, and I delete it when it is no longer needed. I do not add anyone to a mailing list.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email adamrprit@proton.me. I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts collecting anything new, such as analytics, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
